PARKS, RECREATION, AND CONSERVATION BOARD
JANUARY MINUTES
Date: January 24, 2023 – The Stable 7:30pm

Public Comment &
Correspondence: No public comment.
R. Brooks shared correspondence that was passed around to the group.
Minutes: Minutes for December 2022 – December minutes need a change to reflect November Minutes instead of December Minutes. With this edit, the minutes were approved with motions made by F. Mortimer, L. Kloak second motion.
Summer Job Fair/
March 8th: K. Frey shared the flyer for the Job Fair being held at the Community Center on March 8th. She explained all plans for hiring. Parents did have a concern about minimum wage pay and she explained that these rates are for seasonal employees. All seasonal applications are available to be filled out online. Would like a March 1st response from our returning employees and new recruits by April 1st. Will need to work out how anticipated training will be done for lifeguards, possibility of using another facility for training and testing. Different marketing ideas were shared from the group.
F. Mortimer shared information about No Mow May.
Schedler Property/
Park Plan Review: S. Winograd shared that this topic is on the Work Session for January 25th Council meeting, which means it is a discussion. S. Winograd shared the current plan for financing Schedler with a print out. Information was shared about the layout, diversion, playground and access from the road into the park.
Memorials within
Municipal Properties: F. Mortimer handed out paperwork with examples of memorial programs in other municipalities. Different options were presented and discussed. F. Mortimer put together a potential ordinance the town may consider for implementation. Details of the ordinance were discussed with the group. The ordinance will be sent to the Village Manager to forward to Village Council for consideration and approval.
Graydon Pool/
2023 Season: N. Bigos shared that staff recommend that fees be the same as last year. Discussion was held to increase pool fees. Pool hours will be from 11am to 7pm daily, it would be 1 (8hr) shift for the staff. N. Bigos shared that this year the 5th grade trip to Graydon pool had to be denied due to staffing issues. Alternate dates were given when the pool will be fully staffed. Also, alternate sites were recommended for the 5th grade class.
Parks/Open
Space: No update.
Healthbarn: A handout was given for the quarterly report.
Special Events: N. Bigos shared that Sunday, April 23rd is Earth Day. She also shared the Philadelphia Flower Show bus trip is on Tuesday, March 22nd.
Technology Items: R. Brooks shared Master Library planned for moving forward. Field scheduling will be the first step.
A. Chauvin shared there are a lot of new team members involved for the communications committee. S. Winograd shared there will be an internal meeting on February 9th.
Field Policy: No update.
Community Center: No update.
Parks Update
Citizens Park: No update.
New Business: R. Brooks shared placing AED’s in our parks.

· F. Mortimer talked about No Mow May, conversations about how Parks and Recreation can implement this. Discussed limiting gas leaf blowers in town is still ongoing.
