REFUND POLICY FOR ALL TRIPS: H.I.L.T. Trip Refund Policy The following trip cancellation policy has been approved by the Executive Board of HILT (Highlights in Leisure Time) and applies without exception. 1. Our admission tickets require advanced purchase and are non-refundable. All facilities require that the number of people attending be guaranteed. Many restaurants require a final count in advance to guarantee space at their facility. Therefore, we cannot process a refund to any member if that member is unable to attend a trip for which advance payment has been made. Refunds will only be considered in case of serious illness. If a refund is issued due to a serious illness, a $5.00 administrative charge will be withheld. 2. Use of a substitute: a. If there is a waiting list and a substitute can be obtained from the waiting list, a refund will be issued provided you notify the Village of Ridgewood, Department of Parks and Recreation. A recreation staff person will then contact individuals from the waiting list. If a substitute is obtained, our member will be issued a refund. If a replacement is not obtained, we will be unable to issue a refund. b. If the H.I.L.T. trip does not have a waiting list and you desire to have a friend or relative take your place, call the Ridgewood Department of Recreation and advise them of the name of the person taking this spot. This must be done no later than the day before the trip. The substitute must bring a check payable to HILT, to the Stable, 259 North Maple Avenue. If the substitute person is a non-member, an additional $5.00 will be required. When a refund check is to be issued, it will be written at the beginning of the following month. Example, if I am in need of a refund for the September 20th trip, the check will be written and mailed during the first week in October. Please Note: When on trips, the return departure time will be determined and announced upon our arrival at the destination. It is your responsibility to be on the bus before the departure time. H.I.L.T. and or the Village of Ridgewood, Department of Parks and Recreation will not be liable for any expense you incur should you miss the return bus. H.I.L.T. Executive Board - 2023
