Join Ridgewood Choral members for A Sentimental Journey, a Sing-In and Silent Auction on Sunday, Feb. 15 at the Unitarian Society of Ridgewood.

Celebrate Valentine’s Day with your sweetheart and friends by singing Broadway, pop and romantic music along with the women of the Ridgewood Choral, celebrating their 87th year of song and service to the community.

The Silent Auction begins at 2:45 p.m and at 3:15 p.m., members of the Ridgewood Choral will take a Sentimental Journey through romantic songs from the twenties to the present. Guests are encouraged to join in. Words will be provided. There will also be solos and small group performances. Soloists will include the Choral’s Music Director, Marjorie Vandervoort and two members of the soprano section: Claudia Moran of Glen Rock and Daniella Ashbahian of Norwood. Our featured guest accompanist, pianist Angelyn MacWilliams of Ridgewood will take requests during the sing-in.

Mac Williams is a Ridgewood resident and former teacher of music in Allendale, has been teaching classical piano and theory and harmony for over forty years. A graduate of Ridgewood High School, Bryn Mawr College and Harvard Graduate School of Education, she began her piano studies at the age of four and continued private piano studies in college and after graduate school. She considers Rosetta Goodkind, then of the Juilliard School, later of Manhattan School of Music as her primary instructor and mentor. She has been a judge for the Ridgewood Choral’s Florence Reinhauer Music Award many times.

Refreshments will be available throughout the afternoon. The Silent Auction will be open again during intermission. Winners will be announced at the close of the concert.

Since 1967, the Ridgewood Choral has presented the Florence Reinauer Memorial Music Award to a musically talented teen. Over $30,000 in scholarships has been awarded to high school seniors in recognition of excellence in vocal or instrumental performance.

Enjoy an afternoon singing delightful music, bidding for an array of tempting treasures and supporting young musicians. Mark your calendar for Sunday, Feb. 15 at the Unitarian Society of Ridgewood, located at 113 Cottage Place in Ridgewood. Doors open at 2:45 p.m. for the Silent Auction.
