VILLAGE OF RIDGEWOOD – 2024 PARKING INFORMATION

2024 Parking permits available starting 12/19/2023

KIOSK/METER RATES AND TIMES

Kiosks/Meters are active during the following:

Monday  Friday: 9am  8pm

Saturday: 10am  6pm

Sunday: Free

All parking areas EXCEPT the Cottage Place lot have kiosks/meters with 3-hour limits for general parking. This lot has an extended parking kiosk/meter.

Residents can purchase daily parking passes for use in the following lots: Train Station lot, 3rd Level of the Hudson St Garage, and Cottage Place lot, through our website.  Parking at the Train Station Lot BEFORE 9am is only permitted with a Premium Parking Pass or Resident Sticker with daily pass.

  • Train Station Lot  3 hours by kiosk after 9AM ONLY without permit
  • Designated CBD Employee Spots in Walnut Street Lot  All Day
  • All others  3 hours by kiosk

CBD EMPLOYEE INFO
  • CBD Employee Stickers can be obtained at the Village Hall Reception Desk
  • CBD Employee parking sticker required - $30 annual sticker required to park in CBD Employee spaces in Hudson Street Garage 4th level, Cottage Lot, and Walnut Street lot. 
  • Hangtags are $105/month or $52.50 if sold from the 16th of the month forward.
  • CBD Employees may pay by meter instead of purchasing hangtags
  • CBD EMPLOYEE PARKING IS PERMITTED ONLY IN PARKING SPACES INDICATED FOR CBD EMPLOYEES.
GENERAL PARKING INFO

There is a 3 hour limit on all General Parking paid by kiosk/meter

Residents may purchase one-day parking passes for use in the Train Station lot, 3rd Level of Hudson St Garage, and Cottage Place Lot.

Kiosk/meters in the Cottage lot do not have the 3 hour limit

Payments must be made at the kiosk/meter or through ParkMobile. 

  • Locations Available for General Parking:
    • Hudson Street Garage 1st Level
    • Hudson Street Garage 2nd and 3rd Level after 9AM
    • Train Station lot, no permits, after 9AM
    • Prospect Lot
    • Chestnut Lot
    • Walnut Lot (excluding CBD Employee Spaces)
    • Cottage Lot

 

Vehicles with commuter hangtags (RPP) are not allowed to park in the following during the week (Sunday through Friday):

  • Hudson Street Garage (1st level)
  • Prospect lot
  • Chestnut lot
  • Walnut lot during the week. 

The RPP commuter hangtags may be used on Saturdays in these lots, with a 3-hour limit.

OVERNIGHT PARKING PERMIT INFO
  • Overnight Parking Permits can be obtained at the Village Hall Reception Desk
  • Overnight Parking Permits are available for sale to all residents living in the Central Business District (except for those in the multi-family housing developments), who do not have parking provided to them by their landlord. 
  • The hours for Overnight Parking Permits are from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a. m., all nights. 
  • Locations for the Overnight Parking Permits:
    • In the Prospect lot bounded by Van Neste Square, Dayton Street, and Prospect Street;
    • In the Hudson Street Garage 2nd level only;
    • In the Wilsey Square parking site bounded by the New Jersey Transit Railroad and Wilsey Square;
    • In the Cottage lot bounded by Cottage Place and East Ridgewood Avenue. 
  • Overnight Parking Permits are issued for 3 months ($75) or 6 months ($150)
  • Applications for Overnight Parking Permits may be obtained through the Village Hall Receptionist by calling 201-670-5500 ext. 2200 or by emailing lgaglioti@ridgewoodnj.net  
15 MIN. METERED PARKING SPACE INFO

The Village of Ridgewood has several 15-minute metered parking spaces, located on the following streets:

  • W Ridgewood Ave (7 spots)
  • Wilsey Square (1 spot)
  • S Broad Street (1 spot)
  • N Broad Street (1 spot)
  • Chestnut Street (1 spot)
  • E Ridgewood Ave (2 spots)
  • N Walnut Street (4 spots)
  • Prospect Street (2 spots)
  • Cottage Place (2 spots)
  • Van Neste Square (1 spot)

These spaces have individual coin-operated parking meters.

Parking is $0.25 per 15 minutes

RIDGEWOOD PARKING PERMITS (RPP) – OBTAINED AT VILLAGE HALL RECEPTION DESK

All RPP's are prorated monthly.  Please note RPPs do not include street parking.

  • Requires a free Ridgewood Resident or Non-Resident Sticker. 
    • A new sticker must be obtained each calendar year.
Free – Ridgewood Resident Annual Sticker
  • The free Ridgewood Resident Sticker must be obtained in order to purchase Premium or Non-Premium Parking Permits, and One Day Parking Passes.
  • The free Resident Sticker is also required to park a vehicle at the Train Station lot (Station Plaza), and if the vehicle owner does not display a Premium Parking Permit or One Day Parking Pass, the Ridgewood Resident must pay for parking by kiosk or ParkMobile
    • A new sticker must be obtained each calendar year.
Free – Non-Resident Annual Sticker
  • The free Non-Resident Sticker must be obtained in order to purchase Premium or Non-Premium Parking Permits.
  • This sticker may not be used by Non-Residents to park at the Train Station lot (Station Plaza), unless the vehicle owner displays a Premium Parking Permit. 
    • A new sticker must be obtained each calendar year.
