Ridgewood Community ACCESS Committee 
Meeting Minutes August 20, 2021 
 
The ZOOM meeting opened at 2:00 p.m. 
Present: Ines Bunza, Robin Ritter, Mayor Susan Knudsen, Jan Philips, Deanna Schlabik, Lisa Gardner, Lisa Trent, Lauren Schechter Ashley Loria, Erica Dunckley 
Item 1: Welcome 
Ines welcomed everyone to the meeting. Minutes from the July meeting were approved. Motion by Jan, second Robin and motion carried. 
We all introduced ourselves. Robin explained the purpose and goals of the ACCESS Committee for the newcomers. Ines thanked Robin for her hard work in organizing the weekend. 
Item 2: ACCESS Weekend 
1) Lauren has been doing the closed captioning for us for 12 years!
2) Ashley is our website guru. She just needs the link from Deanna for registration. The url is ridgewoodlibrary.org/accessweekend. She showed us how to navigate the website. Sponsors can have either a video or logo. They will align with the Village's website. Ashley will email Dylan and copy Susan, Heather and Robin so that it is posted on the website. Robin mentioned that Charles will put it all together.
They met with the 25 Prospect people. They will share a link with us and they can begin screening on Wed. Also Fri. at 1 :00 they will be in the library auditorium.
3) FRIDAY:
Deanna's senior program is in the morning. 
4:00 p.m.:Seeing Eye Dog Education Program. Dog trainers at the Library. Educational program with therapy dogs from Caring Eyes Puppy Club and Ridgewood resident, Paul Webber and her Seeing Eye Graduate, Lab Harper. 
7:00 p.m.: Q&A with 25 Prospect. Our transportation program is strong, but our employment piece is not. An important question is: where do you get your money? 
4) SATURDAY:
Marlene Pillow is Sat. a.m. 
Mayor Knudsen, Ali Stroker and Anika Davis will provide introductory videos for the event
1 :00 Fashion Show and entertainment. 
5) Blair and soccer program. Ines hasn't heard back from him, so we're assuming it's not happening due to Covid.
Jan mentioned that Mark would have been here but he is still in Lebanon with his family. Ombudsman, Paul Aronsohn: Jan will ask Joanne Van Sant if Paul is on board to tape an intro. The next meeting will be Friday, Sept. 17 at 2:00 p.m. via ZOOM.
