CURRENT INFORMATION ON NOVEL CORONAVIRUS
We are closely monitoring the newly discovered coronavirus also known as COVID-19 . We are working closely with state, and federal public health agencies to make sure that we are prepared for COVID-19.
“If you feel you have Novel Coronavirus and need to be tested”
Call 1 800 Valley1 they will walk a patient through the criteria and then, if appropriate, transfer the call to an RN who will assist the patient to make an appointment at 8 of their Walk-In Care Centers for a test. The criteria are below
Currently, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that you should seek testing for COVID-19 if you fall into one of the following categories:
1) You have a fever and symptoms of respiratory illness, including a cough or shortness of breath, and you have had close contact with someone who was confirmed to have the virus.
Or
2) You have a fever and symptoms of respiratory illness, including cough or shortness of breath, and you have traveled to one of the countries most affected by the virus – China, South Korea, Japan, Italy, and Iran -- within 14 days of the beginning of your symptoms
Or
3) You have a fever and symptoms of respiratory illness, including a cough or shortness of breath, and are age 65 or older, have a chronic medical condition, or who are immunocompromised.
If you are having symptoms of respiratory illness such as fever, cough, and shortness of breath, please call your doctor before seeking medical care. This will help your doctor take steps to keep other people from becoming exposed or infected, and to determine the best setting for you to receive care.
