The concert will take place on March 6th at 8:00 PM at West Side Presbyterian Church, which is located at 6 South Monroe Street in Ridgewood. Advance single tickets cost $25 for adults, $20 for seniors, and $10 for students; at the door ticket prices are $28, $23, and $13 respectively.

The program will also include Les Preludes by Liszt, Sacred and Profane Dances by Debussy, Overture to Orpheus in the Underworld by Offenbach, and Prelude to Act 3 of Lohengrin by Wagner.  Murray Colosimo, former Supervisor of Music of the Ridgewood Public Schools and former director of the RSO, will guest-conduct the orchestra for this concert.

An acclaimed, versatile talent, Simon Mulligan is internationally known for his piano performances and recordings in diverse genres, including classical solo piano repertoire, chamber music, jazz ensembles, musical adaptations, and contemporary works.  Trained at the Royal Academy of Music and Paris Conservatory, Mr. Mulligan has also studied with Alfred Brendel, Charles Rosen, Murray Perahia, and Alexis Weissenberg.  Mr. Mulligan has performed with orchestras, including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal National Scottish Orchestra, the Malaysian Philharmonic, Warsaw Sinfonia, BBC Symphony, Orquesta Sinfonica Nacional, and the Hong Kong Philharmonic.  As a chamber musician, he has accompanied renowned musicians such as cellist Lynn Harrell, violinist Joshua Bell, and clarinetist Michael Collins in recitals all over the world.  In the domain of popular music, Mr. Mulligan has collaborated with artists such as Liza Minnelli, Sting, Branford Marsalis, and Dame Shirley Bassey.  His jazz quartet performs at music festivals in Europe, Asia, and North and South America.

The Ridgewood Symphony is among the largest volunteer symphonies in the country, with players from 48 municipalities in Bergen, Passaic, and Rockland counties. In addition to performing three subscription concerts each season, the RSO sponsors several educational programs, including the annual Festival Strings Youth Orchestra for middle school students, and the Project Symphony program for area elementary schools.
