Dear Visitor,RESIDENT SURVEY – DEADLINE TO COMPLETE IS NOVEMBER 30, 2019The Village is conducting a resident survey to give us insight as to residents’ thoughts about different aspects of the Village and its services. The link to the survey is: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/NTGSSP5. Please take a few moments to fill out the survey, which will assist the Village in determining what areas can be improved upon and what services or other aspects of Village life are important to you. The deadline to complete the survey is November 30, 2019. VILLAGE LEAF COLLECTION PROGRAM All residents have received a yellow postcard with the leaf collection program requirements. The leaf collection areas are based on yardwaste areas (A-D), with certain exceptions listed for Area D, during leaf season only. If you don’t know your yardwaste area, please go to the Village website, www.ridgewoodnj.net, and click on the “My Services Lookup” and put in your address. You will then see the Leaf Collection area for your address. Once you have identified your yardwaste area, please be certain to place your leaves in the street, along the curbline, only during the leaf placement dates listed for your area on the postcard. You may not place leaves into the street after the last leaf placement date for your area, until the next round of leaf placement dates for your area. If you place leaves along the curbline either before or after your leaf placement dates or after the street is complete, you may be issued a summons. No warnings will be given. If you employ a landscaper, please communicate your leaf placement dates to them. No brush will be collected during leaf season. In addition, do not place trash, stones, branches, twigs or other yardwaste into the leaf piles. You may place your leaves in biodegradable paper bags, between the curb and sidewalk (not in the street), at any time and they will be picked up by our collection crews, as time permits. Do not use plastic bags for leaf collection. You may also bring your leaves to the Recycling Center during their regular hours. At this time, our leaf collection is running on time, with second rounds of leaf pickup being started. Updates for leaf collection are being placed on the Village website. If you have any questions regarding the leaf collection program, call the Street Division at 201-670-5585. PRECAUTIONS YOU CAN TAKE TO PREVENT CAR AND HOME THEFTS The holidays are approaching, which means that residents will be traveling out of town and packages are being delivered to many homes. During this time leading up to the holidays, home burglaries increase, and typically occur during the hours of 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., when it is dark and no one is home.
