The Ridgewood Board of Education Election and the Ridgewood Municipal Election (to elect Village Councilmembers) will be held on the same date, May 12, 2020. These elections will be a vote by mail election only. Vote by mail ballots will be sent to all registered voters, with a deadline to return them to the County. There will be two separate ballots in the envelope sent to you, one for the Board of Education and the second one for the Village Council. The envelopes included with the ballots are postage paid.
The final voter registration date for the May 12, 2020 dual election (Board of Education and Village Council) is April 21, 2020. Voter registration forms must be at the Bergen County Superintendent of Elections Office by this date. See mailing address, below.
County Committee - Due to Covid-19, the County Level Democratic and Republican Organizations have postponed their County Committe Elections until June of 2021.
Primary Election - The party declaration deadline is Wednesday, April 8, 2020, to change political parties or declare a political party in order to be eligible to vote for that political party in the Primary Election, on June 2, 2020. This means that the party declaration form must be received by the Bergen County Superintendent of Elections by April 8, 2020. The final voter registration date for the June 2, 2020 Primary Election is May 12, 2020.
Voter registration and party declaration forms can be found on the County Elections Division website, https://www.co.bergen.nj.us/election-divisions. Click on “Voter Forms” on the left hand side. Both party declaration forms and voter registration forms can be mailed to: Bergen County Superintendent of Election, One Bergen County Plaza, Room 380, Hackensack, NJ 07601-7076.
