PUBLIC SCOPING HEARING NOTICE

The Village of Ridgewood has contacted the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, Green Acres Program, proposing to legalize an after-the-fact diversion of roughly 100 square feet of Maple and Graydon Parks (Block 3209, Lots 1 and 3; 259 N Maple Avenue and 200 Northern Pkwy) in connection with the past installation of a wellhead necessary for the continued functioning of the Village’s water system. Additionally, Ridgewood requested a .029-acre subsurface diversion to allow for the connection of the new well to the existing water lines.

Pursuant to N.J.A.C. 7:36-26.8(a) a scoping hearing to obtain public comment on this request will be held on March 23, 2022 at 7:30pm at the municipal building, 131 N Maple Avenue, Ridgewood, NJ 07450.

All interested parties are invited to attend and participate in the scoping hearing. Written comments on the diversion request may be directed to the Village of Ridgewood at the following address:

RECYCLE STYROFOAM PACKAGING

We are happy to announce that Ridgewood residents may bring expanded polystyrene packaging to the recycling center. Don't landfill that foam - recycle it!

Here are the rules:

  • Only bring clean “block” type #6 foam material
  • Foam must be free of tape, ink, & labels
  • No packing peanuts
  • No egg cartons, cups, or food containers
  • No colored foam
  • No wet or dirty foam
