17-201 Amend 2017 Water Capital Budget
15. ORDINANCES – INTRODUCTION
3607 – Blue Collar Union Salary Ordinance – Provides for salary increases for employees hired prior to 11/1/13 of 1.5% lump sum to base for 2016, 1.5% for 2017, 1.75% in 2018 and 2% in 2019. For employees hired after 11/1/13, there is an elimination of two bottom steps; a 1% lump sum to base for 2016, 1% for 2017, 1.5% for 2018, and 2% for 2019. In addition, effective July 1, 2017, longevity has been eliminated for new hires and vacation days are capped at 25 days, with a cap on vacation days of 30 days for current employees. Effective July 1, 2017, new hires shall receive upon retirement one-half of accumulated sick leave, with a maximum of $15,000. A sick-leave buy-back program has been established, where an employee may be paid for up to one-half of their sick leave at a maximum of five days, at the rate of pay when the time was earned. Effective July 1, 2017, employees working overtime shall receive compensation of time and one-half instead of compensatory time off.

3609 – Amend Chapter 145 Fees – Establish Fees for Tree Protection – Establishes fees for tree protection, with there being no fee for a Tree Removal and Protection permit and a fee of $225 for a replacement tree value if the homeowner does not wish to plant a new tree when a tree is removed from his/her property
3610 - Amend Chapter 265 – Vehicles and Traffic - No Stopping on Portion of West Ridgewood Avenue – Prohibits vehicles from stopping on a portion of West Ridgewood Avenue, at the intersections of North Murray and South Murray Avenues. Vehicles will be prohibited from “blocking the box” of these intersections.
3611 – Enact Title 39 on All Public School Properties – Enacts Title 39 on all public school properties so that the Ridgewood Police Department is able to issue summonses to motorists who do not comply with Title 39 laws. This has been approved by the Supt. of Schools.
3612 – Unlawful Enrollment of Students in Ridgewood Public Schools – Prohibits the unlawful enrollment of students in Ridgewood Public schools and allows the Board of Education to pursue it through Ridgewood’s Municipal Court

17-216 Endorse Bergen County Historic Preservation Trust Fund Grant Application – The James Rose Center - Approves endorsement of a Bergen County Historic Preservation Trust Fund grant for preservation of the Zendo Pavilion at the James Rose Center. This resolution does not obligate the financial resources of the Village but will expedite the expenditure of Community Development funds.
