Field Meeting

 

November 1  Attendees:  K. Cook, R. Brooks, P. Thomas, E. Seavers, S. Cox, N. Bigos, C. Fisher, P. Vagianos, B. Lasky, Z. Pace, 917-592-1016

 

 

I.                        Approval of Minutes – October 4, 2022

 

Changes to Page 2 Item VIII and Page 1 item VI are complete.

 

II.                        Public Comment

 

III.                        Field Scheduling/Master Library/BOE

 

K. Cook – need to meet with S. Bisig to decide which Village fields will be added to Master Library. Junior wrestling will be back at the High School, no longer at the YMCA. He is hoping to meet before Thanksgiving to discuss this scheduling.

 

IV.                        BOE Scheduling Policy - Update

N. Bigos – shared the need for Village fields being added to the Master Library, need to meet with S. Bisig.

 

V.                        Winter Gymnasium Schedule

 

K. Cook – some adjustments have been made. Jr Wrestling will be added to High School indoor facility schedule. Corby Associates will be coming on Thursday of Teachers Convention to examine backboards. On Friday they will be at Benjamin Franklin school and George Washington School. He requested the coaches let the kids know that Gym 1,2 and 3 will be closed during the winter break?

 

VI.                        Field Policy Revision for Lighting – RHS discussion

 

K. Cook – we are allowed to have up to 20 extensions on lighting, for example have the lights on until 10pm on a Friday or Saturday night if games scheduled. Discussions about possibly extending the lighting on Maple, Stevens and High School fields to 8pm or 9pm.

N. Bigos – will start the process of creating a sub committee.

  

VII.                        New Business

 

K. Cook – prepping the fields for the winter. Turf blankets this year will be installed as a pilot program at the south end of Somerville field, middle of Kenilworth field, north end of Brookside and east end of small BF. These fields will be posted and closed. RHS Band will stay at Kenilworth.

S. Cox – Maroons would like to buy new locks for Maple and Stevens.

N. Bigos – reminder to the public, any additions or changes to our municipal properties needs to go through the PRC Board.

E. Seavers – trees at Maple on the north border causing shadows, they need to be pruned.

 

VIII.                        Next Meeting Date – December 6th at 7:00am ZOOM
